Blog #6 LPI Reflection

After answering the questions on the Leadership Performance Inventory, I found this test to be very interesting. My highest principle was Enable Others to Act and my lowest was Encourage the Heart. I think these results were very accurate because I enjoy developing relationships with others I work with. My top strength on StrengthsQuest was Includer, so I was not surprised at all by these results. I believe that it is important for others to learn and develop skills so they can excel in their position. I enjoy everyone contributing and adding in his or her views on something in a group setting. It is nice to hear what other people think about a particular situation. I am a bit shocked that Encourage the Heart was my lowest because I usually always give people praise during group settings. I think it is good to give encouragement because then people will work harder and reach a goal. I believe to work harder on this principle, I will give more praise to those people I leave out who are struggling and then hopefully they will prosper. This has helped me in the past with reassurance from those who are closest to me and even strangers. I have excelled in some fields and I am working to surpass in many more.

  1. I found your results to be interesting as well it sounds like you excel in people skills so it doesn’t make sense why Encourage the Heart was so low. I would have thought that both would be really high for you.

  2. Hi Brittany! My highest was also enable others to act and I also was not surprised by this because my top strength on StrengthsQuest was also includer. I think that in the end when you get everyone involved in a project and enable them to act toward a common interest, the best results occur. I agree that it is important for others to get involved, build skills, and try their best for the most wanted outcome to occur in the long run.
